    What is the MRFCU?

    MRFCU, or Metro Realtors® Federal Credit Union, is a Credit Union, or financial institution that is separate from LIBOR, but that services LIBOR members, employees, and their families. It is organized by 13 Board of Directors, 4 Officers, a 3-member Credit Committee, and a 3-member Supervisory Committee, all who support your credit union voluntarily.


    What happened to Long Island Realtors FCU?

    Long Island Realtors FCU was the original name of Metro Realtors FCU. On December 1st, 2018, LIRFCU officially changed it’s business name to Metro Realtors Federal Credit Union. LIRFCU was not bought out by, or merged with a different institution. The Board of Directors decided to change our name to more accurately represent the growing membership that we serve. Existing members were not negatively affected by the adjustment. We simply chose to continue our 45+ years of quality service to the community as Metro Realtors FCU.

    What is the difference between a Credit Union and a Bank?

    Banks and Credit Unions are both Financial Institutions. However, Credit Unions are not-for-profit. When you become a member of a Credit Union, you also become an owner. As a credit union does well, the profits are passed on to our member/owners in the form of dividends, useful services and competitive rates.

    Who can become a Member of MRFCU?

    MRFCU membership is available to all members of the Long Island Board of REALTORS® (LIBOR), their relatives, all members of the New York State Association of REALTORS® (NYSAR), their relatives, and employees of LIBOR and their relatives. Relatives of current MRFCU members are also eligible.

    How do I become a Member?

    It is very simple! Fill out and submit the Account Application, with a copy of your drivers license and an initial deposit of at least $25.00.

    You can use this transfer form to make your initial deposit. If you are unable to use this form to transfer funds, you can make a deposit in person at our office, or mail an initial deposit, made payable to yourself to our office. (346 Sunrise Highway, West Babylon NY 11704)

    Does MRFCU offer Checking Accounts?

    Of course! All members are able to open a Free Checking Account.You can request a checking account, along with a Debit Card and a starter set of checks, when you first open up your account. (See the above link)

    If you already have a savings account, but you want to add a checking account, please use the Membership Changes form. You can get this from the below link.

    Are there any fees or minimum balances?

    Their are no fees to open or maintain your savings or checking account.

    For savings accounts you are required to have at least $25.00 in your account at all times.


    How do I Transact on my account?

    You can transact on your account by visiting our Office (346 Sunrise Highway, West Babylon NY 11704), or by visiting any of our Shared-Branching Locations.

    If you have been issues a ATM Debit card, can access nearly 30,000 FREE ATMs through our participation in the CO-OP Shared Branch & ATM network!

    Does MRFCU offer Loans?

    Yes! We have many different loans to fit your need, at very competitive rates. New and Used Auto loans, Personal Loans, Debt Consolidation Loans, Shared-secured Loans, and Mortgage Loans

    Do I need to be a member to take out a loan?

    Yes. Our loans and great loan rates are some of the benefits of being a member of our Credit Union.
